The Music Hall of Williamsburg is located in the heart of gentrified Williamsburg, a mere skip away from the Bedford L stop. Owned and operated by The Bowery Presents, the Hall will look very familiar to you if you’ve seen shows at The Bowery Ballroom. Just like that venue, I recommend scouting out a space on the top level, where you are guaranteed a good view of the stage and access to a much less trafficked bar. There is also seating alongside the railings on the third floor for those of you who want to get there early and relax all night. The very bottom floor offers a coat check and lounge area, complete with another bar. All in all, it’s a typical Bowery Presents place: expensive drinks, bouncers dutifully checking every ID and shows that sell out often. Oh, and along with The Mercury Lounge, you can purchase tickets to any Bowery Presents show at the box office during the daytime (Saturday only, 11am-6pm) without having to pay those annoying service charges. Just don’t be surprised if you get there at 5:45 and they’ve already shut down for the day; remember, Bowery Presents is the indie Evil Empire and they can do whatever they want to (and that is why we love them!).
