Shows On Sale

Converse Rubber Tracks is back at it! Vivian GirlsWidowspeak, Eternal Summers, & Heliotropes are hitting up Music Hall of Williamsburg on February 15th for an absolutely, 100% FREE show. Be warned, tickets for these events get reserved crazy fast. So, if you want to make sure you get yours, get onto the Ticketmaster event page as soon as your vintage Swatch reads 12pm.

Yellowbirds is the alias of Texas guitarist/singer/songwriter Sam Cohen. Cohen, previously of Apollo Sunshine, released his debut album The Color in February 2011. This album is an exploration of sounds, in particular, the marriage between rock and folk. Key tracks are “The Rest Of My Life” and “Beneath The Reach Of Light“. Yellowbirds will be playing at The Mercury Lounge on March 15th with psychedelic folk rockers Backwords. Presale tickets are available at noon today. Check back Friday for general tickets.

British DJ and producer Bonobo is headlining a show at Webster Hall on April 12th. Bonobo will be releasing his 6th LP on April 1st, nearly three years after creating the magnetic Black Sands album. Simon Green’s latest creation is not only highly anticipated, but is already claiming to be a much more evolved statement piece than anything he’s previously released. The first single “Cirrus” is out now, and I’ve gotta say that the imagery of the official video (which was created by Cyriak) melds perfectly with the melodic chimes and drum beats. AMEX presale starts at noon today.

So let’s continue with our electronica theme, shall we? Bright Light Bright Light, aka Rod Thomas, an import from Wales is headlining at The Mercury Lounge on March 14th with Peter Kirk supporting. Thomas’ debut album Make Me Believe In Hope came out last June to killer reviews. Critics love him, fans love him, and even Elton loves him. Grab your presale tickets at noon today, otherwise get back here Friday for general sale info.
