The Living Room is Closing

Ludlow St. music venue The Living Room will be closing its doors at the end of January, though the owners promise they’ll be relocating sometime “next spring.” They’re asking for your help over at their Pledge Music page.

The cause for the move what you’d guess; rising rent. It’s difficult to speculate where, exactly, The Living Room will end up, though I’d guess perhaps somewhere across the East River in Brooklyn. Zebulon’s closure earlier this month has left a void in the “comfy, intimate and classy” department in Williamsburg, though I’d guess the rent isn’t too much cheaper off of Bedford Ave these days.

Pianos has reportedly filed paperwork to take over The Living Room’s space; seemingly the only Ludlow St. venue making ends meat these days.
