The new year is almost upon us and I can already smell the debauchery from here….or maybe that’s just the cheap champagne and regret. Instead of traipsing all the way to some friend of a friend’s obscure party, have a real good time and go see a NYE show instead.

NEW SHOW: Popgun’s New Year’s Eve with Titus Andronicus should be AMAZING. It’s going to be hosted at Glasslands Gallery (one of my personal favorite venues) and tickets are a mere $30 bucks. Named after a Shakespearean play, the group just released their third studio album Local Business this year. Tickets are not sold out, so don’t miss your chance! Grab them today.

Blonde Redhead AND Beach Fossils performing together on NYE?!? What more could your little indie heart want? Beach Fossils just announced the release of their brand spankin’ new album, Clash The Truth, which will be released on Februrary 19th and will feature a collab with none other than Blonde Redhead’s Kazu Makino. This should be an absolutely amazing show, and the best part? Tickets aren’t sold out yet. Get on this…as in now.

Holy Ghost! are headlining a NYE show at Brooklyn Bowl with Midnight Magic and DJ Matt Cash. The synth pop duo from Brooklyn released their self-titled debut LP in April of 2011 after only putting out singles for nearly 4 years. The group put out another single just this year titled “It Gets Dark“, which will hopefully lead up to another full length album. If you feel like partying like it’s 1987, this show is for you. Tickets are available now. now SOLD OUT.

Indie rockers, The Hold Steady, are bringing it to the Wellmont Theatre this New Year’s Eve. The Hold Steady are always killer live, and considering the group hasn’t released a new album since 2010 they will definitely be treating fans to some new songs. Also, be sure to come early to check out Lucero, down home rockers from Memphis. Tickets are on sale now, be sure to grab a pair.

Pretty Lights, aka Derek Vincent Smith, is heading over to the Roseland Ballroom for a blowout party on Dec 30th and Dec 31st. Expect to hear a lot of new stuff from PL as well as some classic fan favorites. Tickets are still available, so be sure to grab yours before they sell out.
