Shows On Sale

Hey, so I’ve told everyone how much I love Alt-J right? So yeah…here it is again. I love Alt-J. They are cool, like leather vest cool (that’s still in, right?). No, but seriously these rockers released their debut album, An Awesome Wave, in September and the world went berserk throwing a bunch of awards and praise at the guys. I mean, the album is stunning really. It matches and mixes a variety of genres to form a completely new style of music. Songs like “Fitzpleasure“ and “Breezeblocks” are killer standouts. Grab your tickets for the group’s March 24th show at Terminal 5 at noon today.

D.C. rapper Wale is hitting up NY’s Bowery Ballroom on January 7th for what is bound to be a great show. Wale, known for his crazy popular mixtapes, released a handful over the last few years as well as a few collaboration albums. He’s about to drop his third studio album in February. It’s titled The Arrival, and according to Wale the album is a sort of mission statement/recap of where he’s been and where is he now. Get your tickets for what is sure to be a sold out show at noon today.

San Francisco via New York based artist Tamaryn is headlining a show at Music Hall of Williamsburg on February 21st. Tamaryn, collaborating with longtime friend and producer Rex John Shelverton just released her second album Tender New Signs this year. It’s a crafty mix of inviting vocals and hypnotic guitars, and from the get go you can tell that this album is much more open and honest than her previous LP or any of her past singles. It’s a refreshing follow up in a world where the second album for most new artists is a miserable failure. Grab your tickets at noon today.

Cat Power is one of my favorite solo female artists (yes I’m putting her among the ranks for Regina and Fiona!). She’s had an absolutely colossal year with the success of her 9th studio album, Sun, reaching 10th on the Billboards and having a successful set of tour dates all over the world. Well, Ms. Power is back in NYC for a show at Terminal 5 on January 29th. This one shouldn’t be missed, be sure to get tickets at noon today. Oh…and if you didn’t love her enough already, please watch her latest Funny or Die video…I mean….c’mon!

Naughty by Nature – WHAT?!?!? I mean….WHAT!?!? If you’re down with OPP (you perv you) then grab your tickets for their Gramercy Theatre show on February 24th at 10am today. Hip Hop Hooray!
