Flying Lotus Is Headed To Sundance

ALL FILM EVERYTHING

It’s the latest trend in music; short films by bands, album teasers, obscure vignettes.  Want proof?

Check out this blog post.  And this one.  And how about this one? There’s also this Noisey post that explores the so-called “album trailer” fad in which the author opines that Flying Lotus’ Kahlil Joseph-directed trailer for Until the Quiet Comes would not be out of place at Cannes; and it turns off he wasn’t far off base.

The film isn’t headed to Cannes (yet), but I just caught word that it is an official selection for Sundance’s 2013 Short Film Program.  This is no small feat; 8,102 shorts were submitted for consideration, and only 65 were chosen.

Trevor Groth, Director of Programming for the Sundance Film Festival, said, “The selections represent the immensely varied and dynamic approaches to storytelling that will inspire audiences with their huge accomplishments within a limited timeframe.”

Of course, we’ve got the stream for ya below, ICYMI.
