Williamsburg Cinemas Is Opening

Mr. Gorbachev, TEAR DOWN THAT WALL.

By wall I mean the small barricades that still surround the property on Grand St and Driggs Ave.  And by Mr. Gorbachev, I mean some dude on the construction team for Williamsburg Cinemas, possibly the first EVER multi-plex to hit North Brooklyn, which I just learned will finally be opening its doors in just seven days, on December 19 (via Gothamist.)

Forgive me for not delving into another diatribe about “what this means for the neighborhood” and let us all embrace in the fact that we no longer have to cross the East River to see films with substantial budgets, ample product placement and cookie-cutter plotlines anymore.

HA… yeah.
