Shows On Sale

Hell yeah, it’s Friday! This week really dragged on, especially after last week’s gloriously long weekend. But now we’ve got some solid shows going on sale…so, what more could you ask for?

Australia’s, Tame Impala, are bringing it to Terminal 5 on February 19th. The group’s sophomore album, Lonerism, was released in March of this year and has been hailed by many as one of the top records of the year. I’d have to agree. They take a deeper, more emotionally exposed approach to the songs and the lyrics in this album. “Feels Like We Only Go Backwards”, upbeat starter track “Be Above It” and “Apocalypse Dream” are songs that really represent the album’s shift well. These tickets WILL sell out, so grab yours at noon today.

Looking for a high energy show? Look no further because Big Gigantic are coming to NYC. A project of musicians Dominic Lalli and Jeremy Salken, Big Gigantic blew up into a phenom in the electronic world for its “jamtronic” style. The duo are touring all across the country, hopping from music festival to big name clubs promoting their latest album, Nocturnal.  It is one of the top downloaded albums for their genre and boasts hits “It’s Going Down” and “Rise and Shine”among others. Check these guys out at Terminal 5 on February 16th, and say hi to your friend Molly. Get your tickets at noon today.

Hot Chip recently self produced and released their fifth studio album, In Our Heads, in June of this year. Now the group is headlining a show at Roseland Ballroom on April 9th. This album is much more upbeat and showcases the group’s wild sense of humor and their tendency to give fans a little jolt of the unexpected. This is particularly evident in songs “Let Me Be Him”,”How Do You Do” and of course “Don’t Deny Your Heart“. Click on the link to watch the official music video which features a rather interesting video game soccer match (NSFW). Grab your tickets at 10am today.

Another band up for top album is The xx. The Brits released Coexist earlier this fall to amazing reviews from fans and critics alike. The trio puts a greater emphasis on vocals and overall emotion in this record and, if anything, it’s an album of compliments. Softer songs like “Angel” mingle with bolder, instrumentally experimental tracks like “Reunion” and “Chained”. Grab your tickets for their Hammerstein Ballroom show on January 25th at noon today, if any of their last shows are an indicator, this WILL sell out.
